Sea martyrsA Poem by K.M.C.This one is dedicated to the hundreds that die every day in search of a better life away from all the death that fills our lives. We left the land, the palm tree We left the home behind. We’ll fight our way toward the sea, We travel light, we march the land. From the storm, we all flee, The war that rips the land apart. To leave, our lives we pay as fee. We’ll travel far, dreams in hand. And chant the words with endless glee. We are the free, we are the damned, And soon; so soon the end we’ll see, A sacrifice made on demand, Of life and limb, we pay to thee, Today we go, today we drown, In the Mediterranean Sea. The bodies will wash on the sand, On better lands that we’ll never see. © 2015 K.M.C.Author's Note
