Pathetic Story

Pathetic Story

A Poem by Scott W. Martin
"

I can't really say what I was thinking when I thought of this. It's honestly not about anybody or anything, it's just an idea I had and figured I'd write it out.

"

There was this girl
Which at first glance
I thought could give
A true romance

And then she smiled
And then she spoke
And then I saw
Her life’s a joke

She drinks all day
And smokes all night
And in her soul
I saw no light

My eyes did tear
My heart did sigh
For it was then
That I realized

I saw myself
In my own glory
Reflected in her
My own pathetic story
