The indelible power of self-denial

The indelible power of self-denial

A Poem by CropOfTar

So ‘not you’,

Unrecognizable, inconsistent,

‘Faking it’.

For I ever held this or that principle.

I take them, evaluate them, exhibit them,

Sweat them away.

Unappeasable,

Fickle, indecisive,

‘Losing it’.

For I ever reflected in this or that shadow.

Unlike sculpture: mutating, denying,

Liberating myself.

Unappreciable,

Iridescent, immature,

‘Avoiding it’.

For I find great pleasure in self-denial.

Plastic: finding no timeless picture, investigating,

Contemplating oneself from a distance.

Untraceable,

Disappointing, unrelatable.

‘Suffering it’.

For I found a method to live by.

Indelible, cycling, in constant review.

Calming the mind by never settling.
