I Want to Live on Cloud 9

I Want to Live on Cloud 9

A Poem by CrochetRie
"

Without humor life would simply be too complicated. A lighthearted conversation in response to diabolical turmoil psycotic inlaws can sometimes create. Since divorced.. Apparently, it's hereditary!

"

My dear sweet husband
Bless his heart!
In reference to constant drama
his interesting family concocts
Says, "when we die, we're going to
live at least 500 clouds away
from everyone else!"
I smile at his cleverness
and say questioningly
"cloud nine?"
He kisses me and says
"Remember: do not inform
the postal service of
our address change"
And I reply
"I'll be sure to inform
the pizza man"
He says, "Make sure it's
from area cloud number nine
not six-six-six"

Multiple clever remarks here. I plan to leave my cell phone behind, too.

One of the most interesting poems I have read in a while. Leaves a good feeling.

Yes, an actual conversation let to this piece. More specifically the conversation in general but the phrase, "Make sure it's from area cloud number nine not six-six-six" is what brought it all together in my mind.

Witty and fun, you seem to be good at that style. I feel like this is taken directly from a true conversation, and if not, you sure fooled me. a bond is clearly there despite drama and that admirable. I really liked this piece.

oh, wow! I felt this . . . my husband and I moved a state away to separate ourselves from the drama . . . every soften often it still finds us

My heart melted. One of my FAVOURITE poems I've found on this site so far. Loved the structure, loved the tone, loved the sense of humour and definitely how I hope my marriage will be :)
