Why Me?

I can't understand why you don't leave . . .

I need you,

Even when I say I want to be alone.

I miss you,

Even when I scream I don't want to see you again.

I hide the tears,

The ones I wish you would brush away.

I wouldn't say this to you,

Never because I don't want to be needy,

I don't want to push you away,

but I have to in order to keep you.

I know this is difficult,

and I know it could be much easier if you left me behind.

So why me?

Why do you choose to stay with me?
