Fly

Fly

A Poem by Cristy

I am jealous.

Of the way you walk so freely

The way you carry yourself so beautiful, swaying back and forth

You let yourself fly without a second thought

You’re everything I wish I was

Days, weeks, months and a whole year just flew by in a blink of an eye

I’m lost

I feel lost and unlike you, I feel like I’m falling from the sky

My weight seems twice as much as it was back then

The wind can no longer carry me

And I’m scared

I’ve been flapping my wings you see

If you were to search, there’d be no trace of me

There is one thing we do have in common though

Our innate response to flap our wings

Afterall we were not born to fly once and drop

We learn to fly, pause and go up again
