a night with a white lambA Poem by Cristina Moldoveanua religious poemthey pushed him in the dark in the pen’s corner near the wall he was whining faintly like any other white lamb unmarked not in his place
an angel sat around him each angel can fight a hundred devils each angel has a hundred pairs of arms
enclosed in the heavy night his heart like a vigil lamp cast its light at one thousand miles one thousand youngsters received the first communion
he stood awake the next day they marked him letting him free among the other ten lambs it was snowing slowly for ten hours over the land covered with fresh wool © 2012 Cristina Moldoveanu |
