A Cathedral, in Autumn

A Cathedral, in Autumn

A Poem by Cristina Moldoveanu

It’s  raining in vineyards and wine presses

the old town effaces

indigo written pages

spreading a smell of dying leaves

like ocean herbs

lacking identity

the cathedrals shadow disappears

melting in the evening rain

an ant clings to a leaf

I slip for a moment

suddenly coughing wanting to wipe my tears

a willow at the edge of the road

opens towards me

a withered sprout eye

I stumble and walk forward
