Summer KissA Poem by Cristiana JoyHe took me by surprise with that warm summer kiss, Hands tangled in my hair, sheer bliss. Soft and supple, blistering heat, Marked me as ripe, heart a’beat. I kissed him back, not sure I should, ‘Though it crossed my mind that, yes, I could. As his hand gently cupped my rosy cheek, I wondered if by being passive I was being meek. I brushed thoughts away as one flicks at a fly. There was too much intrigue to go wondering why. One arm slid manfully around my waist. He bent me back for a kiss without haste. My thermostat was loaded and starting to climb, When reality intruded at just the right time. I felt plundered, appreciated, still wanted more, When suddenly there was a knock at the door. Now my lips feel tender and my head’s spinning fast, But oh how I wish that kiss could have last! © 2012 Cristiana JoyReviews
