When Only the Moon StirredA Poem by OctoberDawnAnother sleepless night renders me nostalgic.Thoughts of yesterdays greet me as a guest I, encumbered by the present pass by Faces are laid in shallow graves unblest.
The sun completes his cycle once again The moon slowly rises to fill the void I Struggle to reverse this fact in vain
They say the future is both bright and clear But how can we see it if our eyes fail? Softly I into the past now do peer
Tomorrow is no certain thing for these: Forgiveness, love, goals still beyond our grasp These are the things that we should try to sieze
These are the thoughts that danced in the darkness As night fell and when only the moon stirred © 2012 OctoberDawnAuthor's Note
