Save the Night

Save the Night

A Poem by OctoberDawn
"

An urging to push through the times when you are deceived by the person you trusted most.

"
"Save the night" she said, as I was lost inside her eyes.
And there it was I lost my heart, right beside her lies.
Was it freely given, or was it stolen away?
My weak heart needed a home; I asked if it could stay.
But her eyes she turned away, for love she had no place.
And there I was left alone, her memories to chase.
I still miss her presence, though her words left me undone;
So save the night for those of us who cannot face the sun.

I loved the last line. It gives a perfect summary of the poem in that one little line. I really enjoyed the rhyme scheme and how well everything flowed together and transitioned. Really nice piece!

'For those of us who cannot face the sun' was by far my favorite line. I loved this poem. Good work!

Perfection, I'd say, I think I may have just found a new poet worthy of mine ears!
