CyborgA Poem by Al R. ArceJust something I wrote for a contest... I think if Robocop could write poetry, this is what he would write!
I am a cyborg. I remember.
Half machine, half human. Cables running through my veins Allow systemic consonance. Everything new functions better. Yet I am not superhuman As my presence mustn’t be an annoyance. I am a cyborg. I remember. Half machine, half mortal. I don’t feel cold nor hot. I can’t sense the wind or the rain. My sense of touch is encumbered I am by no means normal Memories is all I got As I no longer feel the pain. I am a cyborg. I remember. Half machine, half a person. I need my frequent maintenance Lubrication, fluids and systems checks I don’t want to be dismembered Or my condition to be worsened I am the product of bioscience Technology’s very latest. I am a cyborg. I remember. Half machine, half man. I have no family or friends No hobbies, possessions or pets. My existence is quite somber. No hate, love or illusion My mind in complete restraint. Memories is all I possess. I am a cyborg. Half machine, half somebody. I remember. © 2013 Al R. ArceFeatured Review
