Manhood

Manhood

A Poem by Al R. Arce
"

Some of the things I've tried to teach my son...

"
What's in a Man but the will to move on
Despite the pain and the climb
To do what must be done
Even if it goes against his will.
To be humble when he knows he's wrong
Or admitting err for others well being.
To be true to himself as one
To be in tune with his feelings
For a tear shows his compassion
While his embrace provides healing.
strength comes from conviction
Not showcased but kept within
A Man cherishes his companions
Despises what has no purpose or meaning
For the source of his motivation
Is to feel loved by those with him.
What's in a Man but a bond
To always guard for his kin,

Sounds like a perfect definition of what being a real man is all about. Much enjoyed the read.
