Portraits of an Old Country Town

Portraits of an Old Country Town

A Poem by Dianna Reneé
"

Another kindaish poem (not really but is the closest type). Written for our Spring Concert. My band director loves it! It is probably my favorite of all the ones that I wrote for the Spring Concert.

"

A portrait of an old country town hangs for all to see.  The scene shows the beauty of the countryside which is simply breathtaking.  By just looking at the portrait, it is apparent that so much work is involved in taming the great outdoors.  A barber shop pole can be seen, proudly showing off its bright red, white, and blue strips.  Also there is a wooden church which stands firmly near a post office.  In the not so distant background, there is what appears to be a store.  Most importantly, there are people walking about with smiles on their faces.  What happened to the days of this old country town?
