Genesis

Another poem for our Spring Band Concert.

In the beginning

God created the Heavens

As well as the Earth.

For six days

He created the basics of life.

The seas were formed

Along with the grass on the land

Which also gave harvest for food.

The shining stars and the planets

Were carefully placed in the sky.

Then the birds began to fly around

In their beautiful patterns.

Each and every creature

Put exactly where they needed to be.

Finally,

Mankind was created in the image of our Creator.

And then came rest on the seventh day.
