One Month

This poem was written for my boyfriend as a gift to him for our one month anniversary.

One Month

It has gone by so quickly

Yet so very slow.

It feels like we have known each other

So much longer than we really have

And I look back on the time we have spent together

Thinking how quickly it has gone by.

It seems like just this morning

We stayed up talking ‘til after the beautiful sun rose

Talking about anything and everything.

For so long,

I was afraid that you were going to let me fall…

Though somewhere deep in my heart,

I knew that you would not let me.

Thanks to others though,

I had a fear that you would not be there to catch me.

However you did…

Which allowed me to fall in love with you

From the first words that you said to me.

And now in just a few more days

I will actually get to feel your arms around me

As well as your sweet, soft lips against mine.

Do you know how much I care about you?

How every sweet word that you say to me

Leaves me wanting more and more…

And I know that we will always be together,

Both giving and receiving each other’s love –

The love that is now ours.

I know where I want to be for the rest of my life

And that is anywhere that you are.

As long as I always have you,

I do not care about anything else.

You are my life, my love, and my world.

Oh, just as a note. We are in a long distance relationship (the poem kinda hints to that at one point in time).
