Lost

Losing the person I love most in the world..

 

 

 

Her brown eyes glistened vibrantly
As she sadly waved goodbye
Seeing a new life on the horizon
As she looked out to the sun

The new day had risen - a new chapter penned
Her bags were all packed, memories a plenty - it felt like the end
Her heart was so heavy they had too little time
He gazed at her knowing she was anything but fine

His warm loving arms held her so close
As he clutched at her heart, he promised her they’d never be apart
A token of love he pushed into her hand
Reminding her of the life they’d planned

He brushed away her sparkling tears
Telling her he’d always be near
Even though her life was here and his was there
One day they’d have a life they both could share

She looked out behind her as she slowly pulled away
Her heart filled with love, her eyes filled with hurt
Reminiscing the times they had shared
No love she knew would have ever compared

Many months past, they still stayed together
Both of them thinking they’d last forever
One day he changed, his heart saw the end
He told her he loves her, but only wanted a friend

Tonight now she lies alone in her bed
Her bloodshot eyes a deep crimson red
She weeps as she calls out his very name
A lie he had told, she’d never be the same

She knew she had lost him and the life they would share
She knew she‘d always love him, no one else could ever compare
The token of love she still held on her thumb
She’d always regret the day she looked to the sun…

Death is an end and this is a story of death.
Death has many forms, but when a loved one dies,
We know they will not be back----this story is the same
phenomenon and you can write about this ending, you
can talk about it, sing about it, or make a movie about it ,
but it will not change anything.

Brilliantly written, you have a wonderful command of the
language and the gift of driving your story home.

Wow a very emotional and poweful poem.
Its hard to carry a long distance relationship
i can speak from experience but sometimes it is best
to just stay friends. Nothing can last forever but if you both
were meant to be then you will both somehow find a way back to
one another.
