Jannie

Jannie

A Poem by CrimsonHints

Hey there girl with your eyes so low,

What has caused you this pain?

There’s a smile hidden beneath that frown,

And some sunshine in all that rain.

You’re always mad with your fists all clenched,

And your veins poppin’ out of your skin.

But if I was asked, what made me like you,

I wouldn’t know where to begin.

You’re a bitter candy but a candy still,

With a center so savory sweet.

I wrote a song to tell you about it,

So honey, take a seat.

(chorus)

Jannie dear, listen close,

You’re the kinda gal to make a fella go-

*happy whistling*

Jannie hun, listen up,

You’re gonna make a fella fall in love.

*happy whistling*

You can cross your arms and stamp your feet,

But your emerald eyes are still shining bright.

You can crease your cheeks with a bitter frown,

But you’re still just the prettiest sight.

There’s darkness creeping inside you;

A war going on in your mind.

But if you’ll let a man hold your hand,

No better fella you’ll find.

We don’t have to talk marriage vows;

Four kids, two dogs and a cat.

Instead I’ll ask for a peck on the lips,

And we’ll just leave it at that.

(chorus)

Jannie dear, lend an ear,

I’m cryin’ these happy tears.

*happy whistling with comedic sobs*

Jannie hun, ain’t it fun,

Ya ain’t gonna make this fella run.

*happy whistling then sudden stop*
