Insanity Transfixed

Insanity Transfixed

A Poem by CrimsonHints

My heartbeat’s irratic; caught in the static,

Of memories’ past.

Lungs inhale dreams, nightmares in seams;

Don’t let it last.

Believing in the Above, of heavenly love;

I’m on my knees.

Visions burst aflame through searing pain;

Prayers are now pleas.

Assault on perfection, further disgression;

Lost to the night.

I have this red heart that beats in part;

A terrible sight.

I used to be golden but now am beholden,

To the Devil below.

Cuffed to these chains, I will remain,

With darkness in tow.

I swore on the Bible against my rival,

But lied to the Son.

I leave disgraced, a brand on my face;

No battle won.

Tears without meaning, toward the edge leaning;

Emotions well mixed.

Sin has been bought, all good left to rot;

Insanity transfixed.
