Easily Crushed

Easily Crushed

A Poem by CrimsonHints

It's true; I believed I could fly. I believed my fingers could touch the cool, crystalline corners of heaven. I believed with all my foolish heart, that I could be lifted by the wind beneath my wings.

There was not a single moment, where I thought my bones would break and my wings would fail me.
These were the dreams I lived by.

Until, my heart was nothing and my wings were snapped. Dreams of a foolish girl are nothing but dreams. And dreams are easily crushed.

Beautiful, really good poem. Lost innocence. Naivety that hurts like hell when exposed.

Glad you liked it. Trying to get better with free-verse poetry.
