Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher

A Poem by CrimsonHints

I saw myself the other day,
With red-rimmed eyes and wet cheeks.
With my knees on the ground,
And dirt on bare feet.

Oh, dreamcatcher, you failed,
For I said 'hello' in the night.
A boy with clenched fists,
And eyes that shimmered firelight.

At dusk, I came to me,
With screams that mirrored her death.
"Mother, please."
A young boys words, for her last breath.

I saw myself the other day,
With head down-turned and eyes downcast.
With one hand on the mirror,
And the other in the past.
