Forgive Me

Forgive Me

A Poem by CrimsonHints

I was lost in a sea of my own thoughts.
The waves; a battering ram to my heart.
I broke down the vein-lined vault,
And took the gears that made it start.

Forgive me.

I accepted a snow-capped soul,
And took it upon myself to grow colder.
I ignored all fires you lit in my behalf,
And didn't touch the hand on my shoulder.

Forgive me.

By being what I've become;
I'm afraid I've helped make what you are.
How long have I dragged you down?
God only knows how far.

Forgive me.
