I Let You Go

I Let You Go

A Poem by CrimsonHints
"

I just can't break away from anything corny.

"
I could see in your eyes, a cracked heart. And every step that I took to walk away, every shard would crumble and pierce mine. Every step was for the better, but every step I lost more of what made me whole. Your tears hit the ground like thunder and I felt your grief wash over me like a wave.

And I let you go...

Your fingers reached out to me, hoping in all this hell, that you could just disappear with the one thing you loved most. You shattered when I let you fall and in that moment, I was nothing. I became a shell with a cracked coating, with the remains of my heart in the palms of my hands.

And I let you go...

I walked away as a human being to become a god. I walked away broken to be crushed. I walked away from my birth, my life and my death to become this creature that I am today.

And I let you go...

Now that I'm gone and my paradise is just dust suspended in space, I pass a thousand suns and a thousand moons, remembering your broken eyes. I should have stayed and died with you, exhaled my last breath with you. I wish we could have fallen together with our arms around the only thing more precious than life possessing and eternal.

And I let you go...
