Sound of RainA Poem by =
I didn't need my mother,
Or her words of judgement Alongside her sullen stare, As my mind embarked elsewhere. I didn't need the food on my plate, Even though every morsel sustained, The very life I gave away, and shared, In every waking moment. I didn't need the roof above me, The roof that protects me from The world that I fear so, And the pain that it contains. I didn't need this b*****d world, And the ever lasting sense Of oppression, or the better times. Or simple things, with simple friends. I didn't need anything, you see, We saw the sun leave the sky stained. All I needed from that single moment, Was you, and the sound of rain.
