The Midnight Hour

The Midnight Hour

A Poem by Crystal Lynn

     Moonlight

                     Shadows

     Th-dump…Th-dump

                        Are you scared?

Rustled leaves

                                      Dog’s howl

A breeze

                                 Are you alone?

Ragged breath

                           Footsteps

                                                Chills

Don’t run.

Th-dump…Th-dump

                  Don’t move.

Don’t breathe.

Yes, breathe.  Suck it in.  Scream.

Scream, darling, yes.

Don’t cry.

       I’ll warm you.

                            Closer

                                        Closer

                                                    Closer

Crimson salvation.

                           Yours and mine.

                                                  And the midnight hour’s

                          You are welcome.

The spacing was CRAZY but it did add a nice dramatic effect there! Good luck in the Contest!
