Love Is

Love Is

A Poem by Crystal Lynn
"

Don't roll your eyes at me. It's not clichee, but that wouldn't be the first time you heard that, huh?

"

Love is fiery red and gold

                                      yet cools the soul

                         Love is a golden ring

shiny and new or antique and valuable

                         Love smells like fresh-baked brownies

                                     an irresistible urge to indulge

Love tastes like strawberry ice cream

                                     simple, but divine

Love sounds like the melody of two harps

                                     sounding in harmony and time

Love feels like a warm blanket

                                     a promise of safety

                         Love is

                                    Love

I can feel this writing, touch it, hear it, smell it, visualise it. It's love!

The metaphor of love is well described here. I like every inch of the poem. Yet the following lines make me feel so much, and thank you for that:

"Love tastes like strawberry ice cream

simple, but divine

Love sounds like the melody of two harps

sounding in harmony and time

Love feels like a warm blanket

a promise of safety"

Really Love is love ultimately; it is beyond definition.

Raja.
