Collection for Tj...Don't be sad love

A Story by Cree Nations

Don't be sad love...you knew so well this day would come.

Your love was my safety net, and held me in its thrall.

And I felt secure there in its grasp.

I hoped I was home at last.

Such a bright love was not meant to last.

But I can and will never say our loving was wrong.

It burned a red hot flame, loudly, and left us softly alone.

The love you gave me flows through my veins.

And I am safe love once again.

The net is not you my love, and therefore it can't be gone.

I will not fall.  I cannot fail.

For you taught me oh so well.

I'll rise and stand, and I'll walk on.

For loving you made me strong.

Featured Review

A melancholy counterpoint: "Your love was my safety net", but then, "The net is not you..." , suggesting that it was love itself that permitted you to survive this relationship--I say "survive", because "I rise..." suggests that you have been brought low, if only temporarily, and, "...loving you made me strong", suggests that there was a series of struggles which needed to be conquered.

You are perceptive to my heart which is no small accomplishment.

You savor life, it seems, and both give and take of its offerings. You must be a strong woman to maintain your strength through all life's challenges.
