Our Place in Time

Our Place in Time

A Poem by Cree Nations

...your touch

....your warmth

.....your kiss

I could ask for nothing more

than to be here with you,

now

forever

Safe in your arms, my hand on your chest

feeling the rise and fall as you breathe.

There is no better time than this.

I want no other time than this.

Moments turned to days that slipped past us into years.

All vanished with just one look, one touch, one kiss...

ah such bliss.

With one smile you erased my fears.

There is no time...save this.

now

here with you.

Each touch, each caress, each kiss brings our parting closer still

But here in your arms peace is all I feel.

No promises of a tomorrow - ah

should we dare to be so brave?

Should we dare to ask?

If time is not the enemy, can it be our friend?

how can we let this end?

All else but parting is what we crave.

This moment our hearts will savor and save.

There is no other time than this.

Your poem captures the thought of a perfect moment in time. There are times when we wish that the clock could stand still; everything seems so perfect. We may be on vacation, alone with a loved one, or even a time in work where we truly enjoy what we're doing, our workmates or our boss. But time relentlessly moves on, producing new situations, problems or opportunities. What we can do is savor the moment and try to embed it deeply into our memory, to enjoy later.
