A Dragonsheart Story

Gable’s Song to his Ninn

Dragon’s eyes, silver and bright " shining out into the night.  Fire rising through the mist, lighted by the suns first kiss.  People fleeing full of terror, except one girl, with long wavy golden hair.  Brave is she, small but strong and bold and never bound to any hold.  He knew at once who he did see, and wondered if she knew what she did see.  Scales of purple velvet in their indigo hue, shining bright in the light of the morn.

“Brave you are that you do not fear me” says the dragon.  “I will not harm you, you may go free” says the girl.

His silver tears fell all around, dripping softly there on

the ground “Oh why do you weep my sweet dragon lord? ask she.  “It is a gift you give me, sweet child, one I fear I am not worthy.”

“It is me that is unworthy sweet lord.  Come let me take you home to my keep, and you may rest and eat your fill of sweet grasses and berries.”  She moved closer to him and on her toes did reach and wipe a tear from his eye, and at once a shining filled her hand.  “You have taken my tear as a token, and now my heart has blended with yours and vow has been spoken.  I am bound to you my whole life through, my fate it now up to you.”

“You are a mighty dragonlord, how can this be so?  I am but human and unworthy of your love.”

“With the turn of the moon I will come for you, and shall take you up on my back.  We shall take to the skies and I will take you to the places of your dreams.  Will you wait for me?  Will you give your trust to my keeping?”

“Aye my Lord I will wait here by the gate.  My trust is yours and my fate in your hands.  To your heart I do place mine, and do willingly become your mate.”
