Kendall's POV;
Because I think I'm falling in love with you.
Those words kept replaying in my mind.
I couldn't believe them; I was in a dream, wasn't I?
I pinched myself to snap myself awake, but instead, I flinched.
This definietly was not a dream.
"J-Jesse... I, uh-"
Before I got to finish, Cole appeared, standing in between the small space between Jesse and I.
"Jesse, Kendall? What's up?" Cole asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
I gulped, feeling extravagently speechless.
I was in a lost of words, because of that b*****d, Jesse.
"Nothing, Cole. Absoluetly nothing." Jesse scoffed, turning back, and stalking off to the crowd.
I watched as Jesse disappeared through the crowd of sweaty dancers.
Cole cleared his throat, as I stared up at him.
"Did something happen between the two of you?" Cole asked.
I took in a deep breath, and shook my head.
"No, nothing." I whispered.
Cole grinned, and tilted my chin up.
"Well, I was thinking maybe you and I could go for a walk, since the dance is boring." Cole suggested.
I scanned around the room, seeing Scarlett occupied by Jake, who was on the soccer team.
I nodded my head. "Okay."
Cole smiled, and held my hand, leading me out of the winter dance.
A walk was just what I needed, to clear out my thoughts.
Before I exited through the glass doors, I spotted Jesse off to the corner talking to a group of guys from the basketball team.
His gaze met mine, but he quickly turned away as soon as he noticed my looking back.
I sighed, following Cole outside.
When we got outside, the cold air was pinching my cheeks.
I cursed under my breath, regretting not bringing a jacket.
"Are you cold?" Cole asked.
I shook my head, lying.
Cole smirked. "Kendall, don't lie. You're shivering. Here."
Cole took off his suit jacket, and hung it over my shoulders.
I narrowed my eyes, strangely still feeling cold.
"Thanks." I smiled, avoiding the look in his eyes.
Cole chuckled, as he began leading my across the street, to a park.
"So, you and Jesse are officially broken up, right?" Cole asked.
I sighed, somewhat feeling upset.
"Yeah." I breathed.
Cole stopped in his tracks, brushing my hair out of my face, the wat Jesse once did to me.
"Does that mean you're mine now?" Cole asked, with his eyes eager.
I hesitated for a while.
Could I just betray Jesse like that?
Especially after he told me he was falling in love with me?
I laughed to myself.
Was Jesse even telling the truth? Who knew?
But, something inside of me couldn't let Jesse go, no matter how much of a pain in the a*s he was.
I shook my head, biting my lower lip.
Cole's face fell, as he frowned deeply.
"I don't think I'm ready, yet." I explained.
I heard Cole lightly growl, but he regained his composure quickly.
"Oh, that's okay. I'll wait." he grinned.
I forced a smile back, but it wasn't real.
