Jesse came up to my locker the next morning, handing me a large bag with the words Bloomingdales written across it.
"What is it?" I asked, taking the bag from his hand.
"A dress for the winter formal." Jesse explained. "Don't worry, it's not too tight or short."
I gave him a skeptical look, peeking inside the bag.
From what I could see, I saw a beautiful lilac colored dress, decorated with a sequnied waistband.
The dress had to be a few inches above the knee, but I wasn't too bothered by that.
"What do you think?" Jesse asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I nodded. "Impressive. A bit sparkly for my taste, but acceptable."
Jesse smirked, and shrugged. "My mother's personal stylist picked it out."
I lifted my eyebrows in amusement. "Personal stylist, huh? Fancy."
Jesse rolled his eyes and shrugged. "It's not that amazing."
I smiled, patting Jesse on the shoulder. "Thanks, though."
Jesse narrowed his eyes towards me. "Whatever."
I chuckled. "You know, the proper answer would be a thank-"
"Hey, Cole's girlfriend." Adam snickered, walking by Jesse and I.
His shoulder lightly bumped mine, as I stumbled back a step, glaring at the figure.
As soon as Adam was out of earshot, I glanced over at Jesse.
Jesse's eyes were staring down at his feet, as he leaned against the lockers.
"Adam's an idiot." I sighed.
Jesse nodded, not lifting his eyes up towards me. "I know, and so am I."
I opened my mouth the ask him what he meant by that, but the bell rang.
Before I could even say a simple goodbye, Jesse sped off to class.

"Hi, Kendall." Cole greeted, as he sat next to my in physics later that day.
I smiled. "Hi, Cole."
I was still embaressed about last night, when I was publically humiliated by Cole's jock friends.
"I wanted to say sorry, abotu yesterday." Cole sheeishly said, rubbing the back of his neck.
I shrugged. "It's fine. You can't help the fact that your friends are perverts."
Cole lightly chuckled. "Yeah, Kyle's always been known as the perv in our team."
I laughed, as I started copying the notes off of the whiteboard.
"And I wanted to say sorry about something else." Cole whispered.
I nodded, signalling for him to continue, as I copied the notes down.
I heard Cole loudly sigh. "I shouldn't have kissed you."
I picked my head up, frowning.
We didn't actually kiss, although we were literally a second from doing so.
"I-I, uh, I mean almost." Cole explained.
I bit my lip, rubbing circles on the notebook with my pen cap.
"It's just, you're Jesse's girlfriend." Cole muttered.
I looked up at him, staring him in the eye. "And?"
I was irritated at the fact that I had no feelings for Jesse, but I did have some for Cole.
But, I knew I couldn't be with Cole, or I could kiss my possible eight thousand dollars goodbye.
"Believe it or not, Kendall, guys have something called Guy Code. Just like girls do." Cole said lowly.
"Whatever." I groaned, turning my attention away from Cole.
I felt Cole's warm fingers brush my brown locks away from my face.
I felt tingles as his hand came in contact with my face.
"I'm sorry. I like you, a lot." he smiled.
I like you, a lot, too.
