Three Strikes: Chapter 9

Three Strikes: Chapter 9

A Chapter by osnapitzlainee

I heard panting behind me as I walked further down the school corridor.
I knew the person who was running behind me wanted something from me, but I decided to ignore it.
I finally felt a pair of hands grab my shoulder, and spin me around.
"Kendall! I was looking everywhere for you!" Jesse breathed.
I frowned. "Why? Do you need me to convince someone I'm in love with you?"
Jesse shook his head rapidly. "No. I need you to do something else."
I bit my lip. "Depends."
Jesse reached in his back pocket, and snatched out two golden tickets.
My mouth dropped slightly, as my heart started to race.
"A-are those tickets to visit Willy Wonka in his chocolate factory?!" I gushed.
Jesse narrowed his eyes towards me. "W-what? No!"
My hopes that had risen up dropped dramatically.
Jesse noticed my swtich of mood, since he smirked. "You're weird."
I rolled my eyes. "Then what is that?"
Jesse handed me one ticket, and held on to the other one.
My eyes scanned across the golden sheet of paper, as I raised an eyebrow.
"A winter formal ticket?" I asked.
Jesse nodded. "I just got them today."
"And what exactly do you want me to do with these?" I carefully asked.
Jesse seemed nervous. "You're suppose to go with me."
I groaned. "I agreed to date you. Not go to some cliche formal."
Jesse seemed desperate.
Why couldn't he just ask Regina or Jessica to go?
"Why do you want me to go? Out of all your girlfriends?" I snapped.
"Cole still doesn't believe that we're dating." Jesse sighed.
I lifted an eyebrow. "What? Why not? I'm so good at acting!"
Jesse rolled his eyes. "Apparently not good enough." he muttered.
I took the back of my hand, and wacked it agaisnt his built, yet lean stomach.
Jesse flinched, as he took a step back, covering his arms over his body.
"Why doesn't Cole believe us?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"He says how you always tease me like you have no interest in me, at all." Jesse paused. "So quit doing that."
I cursed under my breath. "Fine."
Jesse grinned. "So, you're going to the winter formal with me?"
I glanced at him. "Yes."
Jesse fist pumped the air, as I rolled my eyes, again, at his immature action.
"Thanks, Kendall. I'll pay for your dress and such, okay?"Jesse called out.
He was already sprinting down the hallway, just as he disappeared back in the gym for his basketball practices.

"Wait, so let me get this straight. Jesse is willing to pay for everything?" Scarlett asked, again.
I smirked, and nodded, while wiping the counter clean with an old rag.
I was working my hours after school at Debbie's Diner, while Scarlett sipped on a chocolate milkshake.
"Gosh, that's awesome! You're going to look gorgeous!" Scarlett gushed.
I groaned. "Don't remind me, again."
I proceeded to take the bucket full of water and soap, and began wiping the tables.
"Why not? We should even go on a double date before the winter formal!" Scarlett beamed.
Before I got to shake me head, she cut me in.
"Me and Drew, and you and Jesse!" Scarlett babbled on.
"No, Scar! It's fake, remember?" I hushed.
Scarlett dramatically rolled her eyes.
"It won't be, once he see's how amazing you look at the winter formal!"
