Birth Fright

Birth Fright

A Poem by CreativeTrauma
"

Something i wrote inspired by my own adoption story and the way my school "chums" dealt with it. Then how i deal with that.

"
A youthful girl can give herself to a boy who promises her the world.

With a nine month twirl around the thought centre of those closest
She finds herself at the hospital with a baby fighting to breathe english air.
A baby that would one day match her own, beautiful golden hair.

Now twenty three years later and the not so baby is confused
she was always told she was adopted for her parents did not want the suprise to create a bad air.
And yet she thinks 'how is this fair?'

I never knew the woman who birthed me with the same blonde hair
she made a mistake trusting a mannot to be trusted.
Now i am here and she is there.

The kids at school have parents by blood
-as they assured me people should
it doesnt phase me anymore because my parents treat me..
as any parents with a big heart woud.

They can judge us but i feel no shame.
My parents mean the world to me
and a name..

is just a name.

I enjoyed it very much because it is true. I like to get to know people on here. That's wonderful how you have handled being adopted. To me, family is who is there for you and loves you and will always be there for you.
