From that first presumptuous kiss

I knew

We would be together

 

From your hand atop mine

 

From your deep, quiet breathing

On a night that was so cold

 

We see our breaths when we talk

We see our simple souls

We know of each other

We see each other

 

And with it all

I still love you

My love will never die

For I am still breathing

And with the grace of time

Our love will grow

 

Your sniffles when you’re sick

Are so cute in the night

 

Your brilliant cheeks alight and bright

When you’re shy

 

Your cold hands and feet

Will be warmed up by me

 

And I will take care of you…

 

When you’re scared I will hold you

When you’re blind I will see

When you’re sick I will nurse you

Our love I will keep

 

And in the dead of night

I will sing to you softly

So soft that it will just be a trace in the wind

And though I am flawed;

I hope you can love me too

 

 Just enough voice to say that I love you

And you peer up to my timid eyes

You see my love

In every cell

In every thought in my being

You see me for all that I am

 

‘I love you’ she says

In a whispery voice

All thoughts pushed aside

And I hear you

 

I get closer and closer to your graceful beauty

And tell you that you’re mine

You’re mine

 

For all of time

Mine…
