![]() Frozen ShutA Poem by Cre8tiveFrozen Shut Four corners to my heart Tightly closed Packed with emotions Sealed Shut So you aggressively cut Through every stitch All my thoughts unfolded Imperfection Inner thoughts You saw it all It flew out of my box and into your hand You were man enough Or so I thought That was until you realized That these feelings inside of me were true Ready for you to shift through But instead you ran Run Faster Please! Leave me here to pick up the debris I pick up every piece so gingerly And wipe off your fingerprints And erase your scent I pack it all up, but this time There will be no surprise I close my heart shut and stitch it back up This time I put the box within a bigger box, stitched with the
toughest wool. And I put it in the freezer to let it cool. So the next “man” that thinks he’s big and tough Will be surprised to see that my heart has been frozen shut © 2011 Cre8tiveFeatured Review
