Patiently Awaiting

Patiently Awaiting

A Poem by Cre8tive

Patiently Awaiting

For my prince to come

Awaiting for his arrival

In this cruel world

Survival,

Is a must

All that’s out there is lust

Dudes don’t love, they’re just looking to bust

And as I sit here with my head on the glass in this cold bus

I think of the future

Us

What would it be like to be happy

To be in love minus all the sappy

But to truly mean what I say

Is the day that I await

So as I sit here and pray

For you to come

My  heart beats faster than a drum

My finger is itching, green thumb

Waiting for your love to grow and hum its way to me

If it could be?

I envision you standing boldly, planted with size 11 feet

A towering 6 foot 3 overshadowing me

With an abstract mind

An intellectual beauty that speaks

Cherishing art and life’s many mysteries

But as vivid as you are in my mind, I can’t await the time that we meet

Because I know as I am waiting for, you are waiting for me
