Getting Back Up

Getting Back Up

A Poem by Cre8tive

Falling out of love is easy when you have a cold heart

I guess mines is a little warmer than I thought

If I was smart I could have avoided the slings and arrows

That you unconsciously threw

To let me know that it would be time to find someone new

I refused to admit that it was no longer love I was missing

Concealing doubt behind smiles

Because I’m convinced we can work it out

I mean we are meant to be

Well at least I thought we were

Dang, this hurts

Love,

Look Babe  I don’t think I can do this anymore

I mean I know you are not supposed to doubt

But my faith in you I can’t conjure up anymore

I guess the saying the bigger they are the harder they fall

And before you walk you have to crawl

I learned to walk before I fell

And this is the hard part because I’m scared

At the fact that I can easily get up and never look back

Though I feel internally bruised, I am left with no scratch

Dang, love why?

Why did you have to do that?

Now I see getting up from love is just as hard as falling.
