Pondering the SleepingA Poem by Jo R.A walk in a city parkCradled in my grass bed, wrapped in the cocoon of all my belongings seeming oblivious to you and your privilege walking past. You're wondering if I am dreaming of being inside a soft expensive bed that remembers me with fancy foam. The grass remembers me, this is my spot today and I will leave an impression for a little while whenever I get up. Tomorrow I might lie closer to the river to sleep that day away. It is better this way; they ---you--- allow me to sleep here for a summer's day nap in the park. At night I must move -- forbidden, vagrant, illicit camper. At night you truly are oblivious back in your fancy bed. You won't remember much about me or any of the others you passed, Or even that we exist. You and yours taking this sunny walk in a park, Coming so near my grassy bed. No one stops you or even considers you are intruding into my home. uninvited. © 2016 Jo R.Reviews
