:) love story :)

I met you on an early Sunday morning,
We both went to help out on Dan's farm.

I fed the cows while you cleaned the stables,
And everyone was happy all around.

You're dirty blond hair was all messy,
And your shoes were all covered in mud.

Although we worked really hard,
I thought it was still so much fun.

And I know I must admit
I knew you only for 3 days,

But to you, I could never lie.

It's just the way the sun shone in your eyes.

I asked you just a bit about yourself,
You smiled and said, "What is there to tell?"

I laughed as we sat on a stack of hay,
Oh that smile....I just couldn't look away.

Your mama left you when you were young,
And your daddy died in an accident at the rodeo.

I just wrapped you up in a hug,
And we just stayed there frozen in the dusk.

And I know I must admit,
You were waaay too fine.

I never really noticed any other guys

Because it's just the way the sun shone in your eyes.

Tuesday was our last day working on Dan's farm,
He said we finished all the jobs that could be done.

I ran to the barn just to sit and think,
I was lost in such a daze, I couldn't blink.

I saw you get into your auntie's car,
You didn't even look back at me once.

I saw the pain that lingered deep inside,
I guess that's why you didn't say goodbye.

And I know I must admit,
My heart had felt tingly all along.

It's just something I can no longer disguise.

It's just the way the sun shone in your eyes.

I sat down on the ground and started to cry,
The one I loved was far out of sight.

But then I heard footsteps coming from outside,
I opened the door to my surprise...

You were standing there with a Dandelion,
I laughed and said, "Don't you know that's a weed?"

You shrugged and smiled, then you kissed my lips,
And said "I love you, Jacqueline. Oh how I love you, Jacqueline."

And I know I must admit,
You were much too good for me.

Oh those blue gems..you know I can't deny,

It's just the way the sun shone in your eyes,
