Sometimes you just need to let it out..

You made me promise to be honest.
I guess this'll be the one promise I keep to you.

Since I broke all the others,
And I broke your heart!

At least for a couple days..

But now,
You seem
Alright.

At least that's what you said!

I guess you're just a big fat liar!

You said you'd love me forever!
But now, forever turned to never!

I mean, what can I say?

That it wouldn't last.

That I was afraid of promises.

You finally got me to trust you,
I believed every single word..

Though I can't
Make you take the blame.

I was the one
Who dumped you right away.

But I don't
Understand
How you got over it so quickly..

It's funny how we say all these things..

Long time no see CG, sorry for not reviewing any of your poems lately(I've been getting really sidetracked by many, many things, and most of the reviews I've given have only been for poems that are in my read request box), but here I am again! Just like I remember, your poems are still extremely strong in the emotional free-verse department. I could feel multiple emotions coming from this poem; like anger and sadness. You are absolutely right, sometimes we "honestly"(pun extremely intended to the ultimate level of intendedness...I know that's not a proper word, I was just-DON'TJUDGEMEH) need to let it out. Great job with this piece, I mean it :)

yes, CG, honesty is the best policy and if we are honest up front, we would not have to worry about stories like this... so very true...

I love the repetition in this piece... it's like you are trying to convince yourself that you are over the last one...

and it is funny how we say all those things... sometimes it's because we want to impress or it's what we think we have to say...
