Please Stop

This is not about love, so don't worry..

Usually I don't notice..
I just sort of thought it was implied..

I go living this life of mine,
Like I belong all the time.

Living as though this were perfect
Like I've never even realized

This can be so hard,
But that's alright..

Sometimes, I see you with them,
Walking together hand in hand.

And there's me..
So different..

Well, everything goes fine,
Until someone makes a remark.

You get all sentimental,
And out comes an angry spark.

It gets really annoying.
I apologize..

But don't really care,
It's too late for this.

It's changed me..

You can't control what people do.
You can't control what people say..

But I just want you to let it go,
It's better that way.

I've always just wanted to fit in.
I never wanted to worry about this.

And by caring,
You only make it worse..

Can't you see it hurts?

I just want you to stop..
You'll never understand how this story goes..

Please know..

That I just want to stop.
But I don't want you to go..

This spreads us apart,
As you already know.

Maybe you should shut up.
Will you just try?

You must accept that this is life!
And you can't change that.

I liked how the voice speaks out to the reader in this write...you can feel the pace and flow...as you go down the lines..and the ending makes for a completion of this:
