I'm Sorry

An apology to one of my dearest friends..

Do you remember 3 months ago
When you didn't say goodbye?

Do you remember 3 months ago
When you never said that you were leaving?

Cuz I remember 3 months ago,
Missing you everyday.

And now,
You're back,
Today.

I thought that you were never coming back.

I thought that you were gone forever.

So when you messaged me again,
I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders.

I smiled wide and laughed to myself,
For you've always been one of my best friends.

And I knew that we'd be there for each other,
We'd be there until the end.

But so much had changed in 3 months time,
New people and emotions.

I didn't know what to expect,
And I don't think you did either.

We tried starting where we had left off,
But it was just....different.

Your feelings changed,
But mine stayed the same.

Did I toy with your emotions?
Did I cause you inside pain?
Is there any way I hurt you?
I need you to tell me.

And I'm truly truly sorry,
See, these words I write are truth.
Please forgive me, my best friend,
Because I need you.

Did I make you feel embarrassed?
Did I cause your heart to break?
Is there any way to help you?
I need to know today.


And I really just had nothing to say.
The fact that you were there,
Took my breath away.

And I really didn't know what to do.
The fact that you were there,
Made me stare at you.

But now it seems I ruined the day,
Just like I do with everything else.

I guess that you could call me clumsy,
Not just physically, but emotionally too.

If only you had told me sooner..
Maybe I could've prevented this.

It's not your fault, it's mine,
And I'm not proud of it.

I just feel terrible,
I think I might just cry.

I swear that this is truth,
To you I cannot lie.

Can you just talk to me,
And stop ignoring my apologies?

I need your forgiveness,
I need to know you're okay.

You ask me why I care?
Well, it's because you're like a brother.
You're like the brother that I never had.

And I don't want that to change,
You're my mega bff!

Don't you need me too?
Can't you see I'm sad?

I'm sorry for this poem,
It's not my best at all.

But I'm having trouble forming words
To just describe this all.

And if you won't forgive me,
Then I must say one thing.

I thank you for the friendship,
The friendship that I always need.

Your friendship is important,
I treasure it so much.

So please, oh please forgive me,
It's all I need and want.

CG, I have to say that this is easily your most emotional and most relatable piece yet. You say that it is not your best, but in a way, it actually is, just because of the raw emotion behind every single last word. Usually when there are poems this long, they lose my interest(AGH ADHD!), but just the emotions charging this poem kept me reading the entire thing! I don't know who it is that you're apologizing to, but just know that regardless of who you are, you're always going to do something wrong at some point in life. I know that those moments can make you feel like the worst person in the world, but they don't mean that you are. No, they just mean that you are HUMAN, and by acknowledging that you were wrong, you are proving just how good(and how strong) of a person you really are. For you to be so young and still be able to admit when you're at fault means that you are pretty mature for your age. This is a great poem, and I'm glad to hear that the person has accepted your apology. :)

Thanks for this poem cool girl. I really felt it. It's something that I came upon this poem first. I have a best friend in which circumstances has arised to where I am losing her. My closest and dearest friend. It's some situation. She will soon be gone completely and im afraid mine will never return, and I will never forgive her. I will write a poem dealing with our relationship, for it has been a long journey. Im happy he forgave you and that you have each other again. :( for me and :) for you. Something important to know for the future - if you apologize to someone three times & they still can't forgive you, it's their issue now. Not yours. (Just something I hold in my Jewish beliefs).

As for the poem, it was written very well! There were times, however, that the piece didn't rhyme as well as it could have or at all. I suggest looking that over a bit.

I'm also glad that your best friend forgave you. (:

This piece shows what it is like to think you lost someone just to have them return. It is a good piece and it shows the emotions of love so clearly. When real love is present, it overcomes odds and prevails through all kinds of trials. A very good write.

Really CG... this is really a very emotional poem. I'm glad that everything is okay between you two. I'm sorry for the so late review too... I'm still busy with school and stuff.

Friendship is something that gives us the strength to pull through everything because we know at the end of the day, when we look back and search for someone on whom we could depend for some support, we would find them standing right there with the best welcoming smile ever.

It is like no matter what happens, at the end of the day, we stay together and everything just turns out fine. That in itself is the most comforting feeling for me.
