Author's Note

After reading C. Lee Battaglia's story called "The Blonde Girl," I just had to write a song. This one goes to anyone who has lost a loved one. I hope you enjoy :)

This feels true & real-to-life for someone missing another, thru death. The expressions are not always neat & flowing, sometimes reading is a little jerky or thoughts jumping around, kinda like our minds do when under extreme stress. This feels unedited -- gut-level -- almost like the person is wailing the blues here, feelings coming out just the way they come out. I especially like the refrain starting with "My best friend" . . . such an endearing quality: "the only one who thought I wasn't weird" . . . I can feel how this narrator is feeling lost & alone, with nobody else in the world who "gets her/him" the way the best friend (now gone) did.

You must have really been inspired by that story Cg, because this is a very well written song. Your vocabulary is strong in this song, the flow(as usual) is fluent, and you really did manage to make this long song entertaining to read all the way through.
