We Can Do Anything

A poem for my dearest friend...

Dead,
Falling,
Black hole.

No,
Stopping,
On and on.

Soul,
Darkened.
Heart,
Broken.
Dreams within dreams,
Torn apart.

Eyes,
Open,
See the light.

Distant figure,
With arms spread apart.

Flailing towards it,
When I feel the sparks,
Of hope.

It's my heart,
Going from gray to red,
Mending it's broken pieces,
Misery coming to end.

My soul,
Finding its way,
Back to its place,
And I can feel again.

Emotions,
Happy,
Sad.

Emotions,
Angry,
Mad.

Emotions,
Not all bad at all.

You've brought me back to life,
You've made me wings so I could fly,
So together we soar through the sky,
Knowing we can do anything.

And somehow it all feels right,
No more darkness to surround me,
And the light has taken over my being.

You,
And I,
Our pasts have been similar.

And we,
Both know,
What it's like to be hurt.

People pushing you to the ground,
Saying you're not special,
And all you want to do is cry.

Love,
Hate,
Torture,
Revenge.

Go through,
It all,
So you can fit in.

You just want to get away,
You need to get away,
You have to get away,
From here.

And I lean on your shoulder,
And you lean on mine.

We stand together,
Or fall side by side.

We need each other,
So we can get by,
But that's perfectly fine.

With you I can see the world,
Everything looks clearer.

No dark shades to block my view,
And it's all thanks to you.

Perspectives,
And questions,
So much to explore.

I love you to pieces,
It's you I adore.

The best friend I've had,
I have,
I'll ever have,
You see.

You've brought me back to life,
Made me wings so I could fly,
So together we soar through the sky.

Hold my hand and we'll get through,
As long as I am here with you,
I promise not to leave anytime soon,
Knowing we can do anything...

We're driven to believe in ascent. But is it possible? ...Yes it is. I read someone's poem, and I'm hardwired to only reply in a tongue that's to do with that context. Like now, it would just be thought to say what's directly relevant to the poem you've written.


I believe in ascent, but of an entire mass, not just an individual person's: it can't be nothing, our commonly indulging notions of ascent, associated with happiness... Your poem, the millions of other poems, the literally countless of other examples of expression. Ascent isn't just a common primal desire, it's our literal destiny!

I really enjoyed! Great friendship is awesome. Not to be rain on the happiness of this poem, true friendship is something I have really had a problem finding these days. I don't know if I am the only one that experiences this, but it seems that most people are fake. They do not want to be a real friend. When you look for friendship and you think you have found it, you reach out your hand to find that you fall through a phantom. They disappear as soon as you need them. If you find true friendship, I hope that this poem is about a real friend that you have, then know, it is very precious. Thanks for sharing, and sorry for the long comment but you hit on a subject that I am very fond of. Thanks again

Thank you so much. I have a couple best friends, it is easy for me to choose my friends. Normally my friends turn out to be the quiet ones or the awkward ones. I just look for people like that, an when I meet them, I just get a feeling that we were meant to be friends...
