I Am From

A poem about me!

I am from a place where they march in threes.
A place that's surrounded in tall palm trees.

I grew up in that place and was there for a while,
Until I moved to a place that had more style.

I am from the school yard where Greek mythology we would play.
From a home where I slurped pasta and played Candy Land all day.

I am from shyness, quietness, and liking to be alone.
I am from music class where I learned how to play an xylophone.

I am from my stuffed animal collection which I still have today.
From wearing plaid skirts, boots, and long dresses all day.

I am from Berstein Bears, High Five, and Elmo.
Dora, Oswald, Little Bear, Arthur, and The Upside Down Show.

I am from hopping on rocks and walking at the creek.
From my English Cocker Spaniel, Fenway, and feeding him each week.

I am from reading, enjoying my homework, and loving school.
From being obsessed with fashion and always looking cool.

But no matter how old I get, or who I choose to be.
No matter if I stay where I am, or choose to follow my dreams.

No matter if I'm rich, poor, or even middle class.
I will always remember my precious memories that were built upon my past.

Aw this is a beautiful poem. I always struggle with rhyme, finding the right words and making sense at the same time :L but you do it so effortlessly! I loved how this was all the little things you remember from your past, made it sound so innocent. :)
