This is great poem on a subject that not to many people touch on. It's such a tough thing for many girls, and it's sad to see so many young celebrities influencing other young girls to starve themselves as well. This was poem was simple and easy to read, with even a touch of irony and humor, which I think works well. It is such a dark subject... the humor brightens it up a bit and makes it easier for people to understand the truth about it. Thanks for writing this, it is refreshing to hear a male's perspective on the subject. (I don't know why I'm assuming you're a man, but I can't really tell since your name is "Notorious Reviewer", so if I'm wrong, I'm sorry and please correct me :D).
"If Marilyn Monroe was alive
she would not be a model
They will tell her to go away and not even bother"
Amen! These poor young women are supposed to look glamorous, but instead they look sick and sad. You're right; I don't think designers would like Marilyn Monroe. Of course, the feeling would probably be mutual. She'd tell them to take their size 0 rag and go wash a (small) window with it. Bless that designer guy in England who had his designs modeled by normal sized women, even when a hairdresser threw a hissy fit. Kudos also to Spain for a showing bit of common sense.
And if you're reading this, Hollywood ladies: Pick up the phone and order yourself a pizza. Do it now.

I had a girl that thought she was too fat
but her small blubber was fun to grab
but she didn't want to hear that

Great piece. Loved the above section especially, even though I'm not too fond of having my "blubber" grabbed either. ^-^
I have three older brothers, all of which have told their wives or girlfriends that they like that they're soft and "squishy", and being so does not make them "fat" at all.
Society just really has a messed up and unrealistic picture of what "female beauty" is.
I see more beauty in the eyes of a kind old stranger than I do when I glance at the catwalk.
Again though, great piece.
Leaves you thinking...
I really like this poem! Great message and I thought it was funny too.

I wish more people carried the wisdom and honesty you display in this piece. Obsessing over your weight is not only unhealthy, but also a huge drain of life force. I can't imagine how much quality life I lost worrying about my body. Nice write!
I like how it points out the truth...but its not rude or only a bunch of facts that go in one ear and out the other...Its fun to read, and still gets the point across. :]
i love the part about marilyn... this is the perfect poem for girls to read.
i hate it when my boyfriend grabs my blubber too! dont mention it... just enjoy silently lol =)
keira knightley also claims she is naturally skinny, but in prates one, she looked a little bit healthy, and now she looks like a 7th grade science class experiment.
