This is great poem on a subject that not to many people touch on. It's such a tough thing for many girls, and it's sad to see so many young celebrities influencing other young girls to starve themselves as well. This was poem was simple and easy to read, with even a touch of irony and humor, which I think works well. It is such a dark subject... the humor brightens it up a bit and makes it easier for people to understand the truth about it. Thanks for writing this, it is refreshing to hear a male's perspective on the subject. (I don't know why I'm assuming you're a man, but I can't really tell since your name is "Notorious Reviewer", so if I'm wrong, I'm sorry and please correct me :D).
Great poem. You know having a little pudge here and there, myself, this is nice to here. I think its more about being healthy and the poem really brings this out. Making love to a stick? That sounds like no fun, I loved it. Very fun and creative, so Keira Knightley please eat a steak with me. It could be fun. :)
I am glad to see I am not the one person that sees the problem with the world standard of beauty has be twisted and mislead into think thin is in. We live our lives worrying about how the world see us and our weight. When there are so many other issues that are far more important to be worrying about.
I am glad that you wrote this. This was wonderfully written and the flow was great and you point out great points about the world view on skinny being the way to be achieve it any cost or else.
Ok... this poem was good, I agreed with those girls who were sooooo skinny and they still say, "God, I'm fat."
But there's one thing, I think this being skinny wasn't Keira's choice. I mean, of what I've read about her, she is that skinny, as well as any females on her family. She even defensed herself whenever someone said she had what they called the 'Anorexia' disease. Keira would love to gain weight, but being skinny had been a gene from the family... So, you might think of put her out. Anyway, I do agreed on the other.
HAHA i really love this. good lookin people aint sticks and them celebrities and models are just makin in all worse with their skinny selves. you can be skinny, but just dont be SKIN AND BONES skinny. great point you make here man! curves=good; bones=not so good
=] Thanks much for the review. Glad you enjoyed it. It is really tough. lol I just noticed now right above the little comment box two adds "MELT THE FAT! A step-by-step Guide How To Melt The Fat. Only $39" and "Lose 1 Jean Size Every 7 Days! Ancient Slimming Secret Revealed" There is just too much pressure. Young girls lose sight of what really matters. Hard to tell what is the healthy weight anymore with so much pressure from celebrities and peers. But I guess you just have to be healthy and live your life to the fullest. No ones ever perfect. Whats the sense in trying so hard?!
I agree completely. Nobody wants to hug a bag of bones. a good message delivered in rhyme that comes across fairly well and not too forced. Noticed a couple of typos :
skrawny is [scrawny]
and Skelator is [Skeletor]
over all, I liked this poem and the plea to women to stop stop eating
I liked what you're saying here, chicks need to chill out about all that stuff. If they all collectively relaxed a bit they'd realize there wasn't much to worry about in the first place, their world's not going to fall apart just cause they packed on a few.
But then, I suppose its not fair for us guys to judge, it must be crazy to be a chick and have to deal with all that crap in the media, and then the general crazy war that girls seem to want to wage on each other and themselves.
