Letter To Keira Knightley

Letter To Keira Knightley

A Poem by Crazy Cat Man

Keira Knightley and Nicole Richie
Used to be nice and plumpy
and now they're both skinny and skrawny

Mary Kate and Ashley Olson
Used to be so wholesome
and now the wind can blow them

What is happening to today's world?
When every child want's to be a skinny girl?
They eat a lil food then want to hurl

Little girls look up to their stars
They want to be skinny just as they are
So they refuse to eat then starve

I had a girl that thought she was too fat
but her small blubber was fun to grab
but she didn't want to hear that

Spain made their models to gain some weight
To join the catwalk the girls have to eat cake
A whole chicken they just ate

If Marilyn Monroe was alive
she would not be a model
They will tell her to go away and not even bother

Too many girls want to be super thin
I don't want to make love to a stick
So each girl must look from within

Is your beauty worth dying for?
You are starting to look like Skelator
I hope you start eating some more

So this is my letter to Keira Knightley
I am asking very politely
My hopes on her gaining weight is unlikely

She is now just skin and bones
What is wrong with her skin tone?
She looks like a ghost

I mean what is wrong this?
She looked like she came from the abyss
Oh the old her how much I miss

This is great poem on a subject that not to many people touch on. It's such a tough thing for many girls, and it's sad to see so many young celebrities influencing other young girls to starve themselves as well. This was poem was simple and easy to read, with even a touch of irony and humor, which I think works well. It is such a dark subject... the humor brightens it up a bit and makes it easier for people to understand the truth about it. Thanks for writing this, it is refreshing to hear a male's perspective on the subject. (I don't know why I'm assuming you're a man, but I can't really tell since your name is "Notorious Reviewer", so if I'm wrong, I'm sorry and please correct me :D).

You know, humor mixed with a serious message is great.. Its like, and sorry for the cheese here, but it's like that song from Mary Poppins, you know "A Spoonful Of Sugar".. It's funny how some things become so unacceptable by society, that people aspire to be the complete opposite.. A guy thinks people believe he is gay, often times he'll sleep with copious amounts of women to "prove"he isnt.. Someone feels invisible, so they clothe themself in labels.. A girl thinks she's overweight, so she starves herself until she looks like a nazi concentration camp survivor.. The key to happiness is balance, not "perfection"..

Bravo! Well said. All this obsession with weight is difficult on everyone. Healthy bodies are healthy minds. Anyway... besides the postive message in your poem... LOL It was well written. Cheers.

I agree with everything you said. It was a great poem that looks upon what little girls are looking at as role models. Though if i have do give advice i would say it rymths a little to much

i want to walk in the snow
