Letter To Keira Knightley

Letter To Keira Knightley

A Poem by Crazy Cat Man

Keira Knightley and Nicole Richie
Used to be nice and plumpy
and now they're both skinny and skrawny

Mary Kate and Ashley Olson
Used to be so wholesome
and now the wind can blow them

What is happening to today's world?
When every child want's to be a skinny girl?
They eat a lil food then want to hurl

Little girls look up to their stars
They want to be skinny just as they are
So they refuse to eat then starve

I had a girl that thought she was too fat
but her small blubber was fun to grab
but she didn't want to hear that

Spain made their models to gain some weight
To join the catwalk the girls have to eat cake
A whole chicken they just ate

If Marilyn Monroe was alive
she would not be a model
They will tell her to go away and not even bother

Too many girls want to be super thin
I don't want to make love to a stick
So each girl must look from within

Is your beauty worth dying for?
You are starting to look like Skelator
I hope you start eating some more

So this is my letter to Keira Knightley
I am asking very politely
My hopes on her gaining weight is unlikely

She is now just skin and bones
What is wrong with her skin tone?
She looks like a ghost

I mean what is wrong this?
She looked like she came from the abyss
Oh the old her how much I miss

This is great poem on a subject that not to many people touch on. It's such a tough thing for many girls, and it's sad to see so many young celebrities influencing other young girls to starve themselves as well. This was poem was simple and easy to read, with even a touch of irony and humor, which I think works well. It is such a dark subject... the humor brightens it up a bit and makes it easier for people to understand the truth about it. Thanks for writing this, it is refreshing to hear a male's perspective on the subject. (I don't know why I'm assuming you're a man, but I can't really tell since your name is "Notorious Reviewer", so if I'm wrong, I'm sorry and please correct me :D).

I couldn't agree with you more... Super skinny girls don't do much for me... It is sad that they think that is 1) pretty and 2) sexy!! Great write!!

So true. and what bothers me the most is that young girls look up to these celebrities and then end up like them - skinny as a rail. I used to buy a lot of the magazines about celebrities but those days are over. I hate what they do. Media, today... sigh..

Great job on this!

I like this a lot! How true that there is so much pressure to be thin. It is ultimately up to each girl to decide. Unfortunately so many men want the twig so it is hard. Wish I knew more men who didn't want the twig. LOL But anyways I love the poem! It has great flow!

From a girl who owns curves I completely agree. Please gain some weight ladies! I would hate you to look bad when I walk in the room! A bottom is nice to look at and a bust can make a dress fill out nicely! I like have them and men like them too..smile!

Very good. I think I'm in love with keria. I liked when you used "Skelator" it made me laugh but it also put a very vivid picture in my head.

Another one, laughing through it, laughing at the crazy reality of the world and what many women do. I for one need a little something there to hold onto, not a stick or wafer thin woman, but a woman with curvs... a real woman. Well done... again.

I like this poem, and agree with it entirely. People should be happy with how they are and Celebrities don't really seem to set much of a good example!

I agree with you up to a point. Keira has never been "nice and plumpy". Though for a spell she did look rather nasty and her chest bones were peaking out of her body like it was nobody's business. I read a article where she said she wanted to try to gain some "healthy weight" and her doctor told her it would be very hard for her to do just because of how her body works. It's sounds kind of sketchy, but looking at her now i think she looks a lot better than she did in the period where that picture you have posted was taken. ...i don't know why i'm talking about this. haha

I do like that there is a serious message in this. The industry has made it so "skinny or nothing" for actresses and it's really disgusting. And it's a s**t example to send to younger girls who just want to have role models.

Also good point with the Marilyn Monroe bit. She would have had doors slammed in her face for being a fuller woman.

Boy, the times, they are a changin'

Well done!
