Update

A Poem by Crazy Cat Man

Yes it has been many years
Since I yanked your heart out
but I would like to know
what are you doing now?
No we will not get back together
I just wanted to ask about the weather
I'm dating someone new
I thought you already knew
Well I just wanted an update
to what  you're doing as of late
I think about you sometimes
when I'm with my lover
he reminds me of you
he's very cute
I just wanted to check
while I lay my head on his chest
I hope you are well
Until next time when I'm bored
I'll check up on you
To see if you miss me more
Aren't you happy for me
I found the love of my life
He asked me to be his wife
I hope you understand
I just wanted to stay friends
Perhaps I'll see you again
....For now this is just an update

wow... nice, this is one of the most subtle poems you've written, i loved it because in so many ways it encapsulates the heart at the moment. and at the same time brings to mind the past, present and future of life, love and longing, its as if being in love with someone new but void in the heart from that some

one who took a piece and left a hole, and its hard to determine just what it
is that will fill the void if but a memory revealed with a glimpse of pain that sneaks in every now and then and brings to life an update. awsome job, keep it up

Subtle? Bollocks. Who hasn't done that? You're a dark force Reviewer, I thought you were a man ffs. The line about lying on his chest struck home, I'm not at all articulate so you'll have to make do with the fact that I genuinely f*****g loved it. GBG x

Yes, we do that from time to time. Facebook has made it so much easier to check in on people from our past. Reading this poem is like eavesdropping in on a private conversation, thoughts and relationship. Creatively written!

Only wanted to be frnds, talking with him alittle (him shying away).... * had his ex, one time with him (if tht was his ex!)
I moved away from him,..... i dont even knw if he still remebers me. I do. But wht if (like this poem-) he finds another???!!!!!!

I really like this poem because it pisses me off. Any writing that evokes a strong emotion is well written and deserving of praise.

If I were ever the recipient of a letter like that I would burn it then use the ash to mix a mortar that I would apply to cement any feeling I had for the woman who dumped me and then had the balls to write to tell me how great her life is. Just stay friends. How about f**k that and f**k you?

No, not you personally as the writer. I love the poem.

But f**k the person who can rub it in the face of someone she dumped and then wanted to remain friends oblivious to the pain caused by the dumping and the update. Ouch.

Nice write.
